the York String Quartet players

Our York String Quartet musicians are all established chamber music and orchestral players who have spent many years playing within the UK with the top British orchestras, such as The Philharmonia, Opera North, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, The Halle, English National Opera, Royal Northern Sinfonia and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.  We have also played further afield with, for instance, the Bolshoi Ballet Orchestra, the Narodni Divadlo in Prague and The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

Members of the York String Quartet have also worked extensively in the pop industry with artists such as Crowded House, Bjork, Shed Seven, Depeche Mode and Status Quo in the recording studio and on tv as well as live.

We have developed into a small group of excellent professional musicians, as experience has shown that this increases our availability and guarantees a quality result, with all players thoroughly familiar with our repertoire.
